Trailhead:
From Colorado Springs head West on Highway 24 to Woodland Park. Turn right at the stoplight by McDonalds. This road starts as Baldwin St, but turns into Rampart Range Road. Follow this past Woodland Park. After passing some water storage tanks the road comes to a Y. Take a right. Follow this road to a stop sign and turn right again. Follow this for 3.9 miles to the entrance to Rampart Reservoir. This is a fee area. Follow this road down to a parking area near the dam. Look for the trail and begin in either direction.

Summary:
This loop is pretty much the same in either direction though most people go clockwise. The trail pretty nearly follows the shoreline, though there are a couple of cut offs along the way. It's pretty easy to follow. Remember this is about a 10 mile loop, it doesn't have too much elevation gain, but some ups and downs. A lot of people bike this trail. You can also access this trail via the Rainbow Gulch Trail (in yellow) or the Schubarth access trail (in blue), these two routes legally avoid having to pay the access fee.
